Cleaner accused of molesting co-worker

An Indian worker allegedly molested a Indonesian servant after hitting her with kitchen tools and injuruing  her, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Both of them were on duty at Jumeirah Marina Resort  on May 4, when LS, 36, who was cleaning the kitchen, was taken by surprise as the accused grabbed her from behind and attempted to kiss her. He was assigned to clean the garbage bin outside. When she screamed for help, he shut her mouth with his hands, dragged her by her hair and hit her head with kitchen tools.

MBL, 38, Myanmarian servant supervisor, testified before the Prosecution that when she heard screams of a woman coming from villa number eight, she rushed to the spot to see KRR, 36, Indian worker, pulling the victim’s hair and molesting her.

“He ran away when he saw me, but the security guard arrested him,” she said.

FS, 24, Indian, cleaner, also said that he went to the villa after hearing screams of a  woman to find the victim crying. MBL was with the victim, he added. On seeing  KRR running, he got hold of him and called the security guard.

The forensic report confirmed the victim had sustained injuries, which required at least 20 days to cure.

The court adjourned the case until next week for verdict.
