Cleaner jailed for molesting housekeeper

A Dubai court has sentenced an Indian cleaner to three months in jail for molesting a housekeeper.

The man identified as KKR, 36, was found to be guilty of trying to sexually assault the Indonesian woman whom he attacked when his attempts failed.

He was caught by guards in the Jumeirah Marina Resort while trying to flee from the scene.

On May 26, the woman LS, 36, was cleaning the kitchen of a villa when the man grabbed her from behind. He tried to kiss her and sexually assault her.

He gagged her when she screamed and dragger her back into the kitchen when she struggled her way out. She was hit on head with kitchen implements.

A Myanmarian supervisor MBL, 38, testified before the prosecution that she rushed to the villa on hearing screams. While there, she saw the man dragging the victim into the kitchen and hitting her with some kitchen implements.

Another Indian cleaner FS, 24, also testified to have seen the man running away after committing the crime.  He managed to hold on to the culprit until security guards took over.

He will be deported on completion of the sentence.
