Couple accused of human trafficking

A man and a woman brought four women from India with promise of jobs in UAE and forced them into prostitution.

NDB, 56, and his female accomplice YTB, 37, are accused of human trafficking. The first victim FBA, 20, testified that she was promised a maid’s job in Dubai, so she agreed to come.

On arrival, she was confined to a house and asked to work in prostitution. When she refused, she was asked to pay Dh20,000 as cost of visa and travel expenses. She was beaten up by the man and the woman and forced to work in prostitution for two months.

After two months, they refused to send her home and extended the period for a year. While she and another girl was cleaning the yard of the house and the two accused were asleep, they managed to run away to Al Muraqqabat police station and inform the police.
