Crash causes tailbacks on Al Ain-Dubai Road

An accident has been reported on Al Ain Road, heading towards Dubai, causing a “major congestion,” according to eyewitnesses.

Apart from the traffic coming in from Al Ain, the accident site is also the junction of traffic coming in from Aweer and Sharjah via Emirates Road. It also is a major morning route for residents of Dubailand heading into the city as well as for people driving in from Jebel Ali on Emirates Road.
 
Commuters have also spotted ambulances on the scene, with the traffic extending beyond Outlet Mall.

 
K Sridhar spoke to Emirates 24|7 saying: “Traffic in and around SkyCourts and Silicon Oasis is at a complete standstill. We can see ambulances arriving at the scene but there traffic jam is growing with commuters coming in from Sharjah and Ajman.”
 
Drivers are being advised to find alternative routes.

The accident site is across the road from where a bus had crashed into a parked truck.
