The delays of the morning commute got a bit longer on Sunday, with drivers reporting slow-moving traffic just shy of the midday lunch rush.

Dubai Police has also confirmed an accident on Sheikh Rashid Road, while another has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road, heading northbound.

In a tweet, Dubai Police stated: “Accident between two vehicles on Sheikh Rashid Road coming from Al Serkal building intersection towards to Al Rashidiya and Umm Ramool exit.”

Commuters are reporting congestion on the major artery that connects to Sharjah.

Meanwhile, another fender bender has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road, also heading in the direction of Sharjah, with slow-moving traffic in front of the World Trade Centre Residences, with tailbacks until second interchange.

The spillover has also caused congestion on the parallel road, in front of the Dubai International Convention Centre, with some slow-moving traffic on 2nd Zabeel Road.

Another minor accident has been reported heading towards Al Maktoum Bridge, near the Oud Metha Road junction, with traffic getting stick towards Deira, with a spillover of traffic at neighbouring Floating Bridge.

Those heading out of Sharjah and using Al Ittihad Street are in for a long ride, as three separate minor accidents have clogged up the major artery.
