DNA tests incriminate serial child rapist in Abu Dhabi
A 39-year-old man from another Gulf country could be executed for raping six children in Abu Dhabi after he separately lured them to the top of buildings, claiming he wanted to show them birds, press reports said on Tuesday.
The unnamed defendant had first denied the charges but DNA tests presented to court incriminated the man and forced him to confess to his crimes.
Police said the man confessed to raping six boys under 10 years old by luring them to the top of buildings in the capital.
“He used to approach the children by asking them about their names and giving them money…he then took them to the roof of buildings, saying he wanted to show them birds…he raped all of them and tests showed they were all raped by the same man,” the semi official Arabic language daily Alittihad said, quoting police.
It said such crimes involve the death penalty under UAE laws, adding that the prosecutor demanded the defendant’s execution at a previous court session.
