Driver hurt after jumping Abu Dhabi red light
A driver suffered from multiple fractures when his collided with another vehicle after jumping the red lights in Abu Dhabi, Alittihad said on Saturday.
Other passengers in the taxi cab and the second vehicle escaped unhurt in the accident that occurred at a traffic lights junction between Delma and Karama streets in the Capital.
The paper quoted a police officer as saying the accident was caused after one of the cars sped up to overtake the traffic signal before switching to the red light.
“We again urge all drivers not to stay away from such acts to avert serious accidents that lead to casualties,” said Lt Rashid Al Saridi, serious accident investigator at the traffic police.
