A 26-year-old, AHS, Iranian visitor allegedly smuggled 4.8Kgs of methamphetamine in secret pockets in his luggage bags, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
Custom officer Khalfan Abdullah suspected AHS who arrived in Terminal I of Dubai International Airport. Searching his luggage bags he discovered secret pockets had been made in his bags. Opening them he found crystal powder put in plastic sacks and carefully hidden in these pockets.
“Confronting the accused, he denied knowing anything about the drugs but said that someone from his home country gave him the bags and told him to hand them over to someone in the UAE. The accused was referred to the Anti-Narcotics police,” he testified.
Another custom officer repeated the same testimony.
The court adjourned the case for verdict on February 7.
