In bid to automate the entire municipal services, the Contracts and Purchasing Department of Dubai Municipality, in collaboration with Dubai Smart Government Department, has launched a new electronic system called i-Supplier for the suppliers dealing with government departments in the emirate of Dubai.

The move is aimed at providing excellent services for its customers from the category of suppliers considering it as one of the important segment connected with the civic body.

Ibrahim Yaqoub, Director of Contracts and Purchasing Department said; “The system is an electronic gateway for suppliers dealing with government departments to enable them access DM services from any smart phone or computer, mitigating the burdens on companies.

“The companies can avail the benefits of this system collecting their purchase orders online.”

In future, the companies can also prepare invoices through the system without  visiting the main building.

The number of companies using the system reached around 400, which has been increasing daily as the civic body has been dealing with a big segment of suppliers in the emirate.

The department has already launched and electronic committee for direct procurement practices, and the Municipality was the first government body to automate its entire purchase procedures in the emirate.
