A new state of the art diagnostic centre with links to 5000 diagnostic centres around the world will be available in Dubai, announced the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

Issa Al Maidoor, General Director of the DHA, on Sunday announced plans for the establishment of the Dubai Diagnostic Centre, which will be built by the DHA using the latest technology and international standards.

With the latest specialised equipment, the centre will offer services intended to help healthcare practitioners in Dubai diagnose patients quickly and accurately.

If needed, the centre will be able to consult diagnostics abroad, leaving no chance for a delayed or unavailable diagnosis.

The initiative evolved during a recent visit of Al Maidoor to the Netherlands, where he met with Siemens World, a German multinational engineering and electronics company, and discussed ways to collaborate for the proposed Dubai Diagnostics Centre. The DHA delegation visited Siemens’ factories and was provided an overview of the latest in diagnostics and imaging such as a state-of-the-art MRI machine.

Al Maidoor commented: “Collaboration with renowned international healthcare companies that provide specialised expertise in the field of treatment and diagnostics is vital for the development of the health sector in Dubai.

“The DHA is looking to provide the best services, regardless of who provides it- the private or the public sector and therefore collaboration with international players is essential and sub-specialisation is the way forward to achieve the best in all areas of healthcare.”

The construction of the Dubai Diagnostics Centre is part of the Dubai Health Strategy 2013-2025 master plan. The time frame within which the centre will be built and opened is not clear at this point.
