Dubai Police in bike crackdown to rid Deira of noise 'nuisance'

In a crackdown in the Deira area of Dubai, police have seized motorbikes following complaints from residents of Muhaisnah, Al Mizhar, Al Khawaneej and Muteena.

People had complained that the bikes were driven recklessly risking not only their own lives but also putting the lives of residents and other road users in danger.

The bikers had become a nuisance, residents complained.

When Dubai Police patrol intercepted them, one of bikers tried to flee, however, only managed to get as far as the Qusais area. 

Some of the bikes - identified as 'Raptor' and 'Banshee' - were heavily modified and police confirmed that these bikes on public roads pose a danger to all drivers, besides being a noise nuisance in residential areas.
