The Hard Task and Rescue Team of Dubai Police dealt with 42 incidents last year, which led to 14 deaths, 14 serious injuries, 16 medium injuries and 31 cases, reported 'Al Khaleej' newspaper.
Capt. Mohammed Ibrahim Ahmed Al Reyaysa, Head of the department of The Hard Task and Rescue Team of Dubai police, said the accidents included car mishaps, building collapses, vehicle crashes, accidents on ships, fires, etc.
There has been no significant increase in the number of acidents. The year 2009 saw 41 incidents that led to 11 deaths, four serious injuries, 29 medium and seven minor ones.
The Hard Task and Rescue Team, formed in 1992, undergo intensive training, based on the latest global programmes in the area of hard tasks and natural and environmental disasters.
