Dubai Roads and Transport Authority reduces taxi fares

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority confirmed that it has reduced the fare of all taxis in Dubai.

In a special statement to Al-Bayan, Adel Shakri, Director of the Planning and Business Administration Department at the Public Transport Agency on Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, said that the Roads and Transport Authority seeks to develop its services and improve their quality, and that it reviews taxi prices periodically every two months, depending on the change in oil prices.

He confirmed that the taxi fare was reduced by 10%, from 2.19 dirhams to 1.97 dirhams per kilometer, explaining that the tariff included all types of taxis, limousines, airport taxis, and others.

He explained that the authority had previously reduced prices last October, stressing that taxi prices in Dubai are among the best prices compared to other destinations in the world.

He explained that the number of taxis in the emirate exceeds 11,000 vehicles, which vary between regular taxis, airport taxis, women's taxis, and limousines, stressing that the authority is constantly working on developing taxis to make customers happy.
