Dubai's Doner restaurant enters Guinness Book

Doner Restaurant has achieved a new Guinness World Record for the world's largest Doner, Tarika Vara, Official Guinness World Records Adjudicator, has announced.

The Doner weighed 468 KG with a height of 295 cm and a width of 60 cm. In an act of goodwill the Doner was distributed among charity organizations in Dubai feeding more than 3,000 people. This event took place at the restaurant's venue, on Jumeriah 3 beach road; everyone who was there took part in enjoying this festive meal.

 
The representative from Guinness World Records measured the meat and the height of its cooking machine in front of the crowds of anticipating people, announcing a new record for the Emirate of Dubai in the world's most famous book of Records.

Mrs. Rana Abdullah, Doner restaurant owner, commented saying: "It has pleased us to have won this title from the Guinness book of records in the Emirate of Dubai which never seizes to amaze people with its unique features, monuments, landmarks and achievements. It is also a pleasure to have grabbed this opportunity to help out with charity in this holy month."

It is expected that this Doner has fed around 3000 people. Furthermore big quantities of meat were also distributed through governmentally licensed Dubai charity organizations to the needy." Mr. Noor El-Din El-Ghannam, the Event manager, explained saying: "This day took one month of successive work and preparation. Starting from the building and assembling of the cooking machine whose height exceeds six meters tall, and was designed according to international safety standards containing 23 combustion units burning at 7000 watts. Up till the selecting of the best quality meat and the finest, freshest ingredients, ensuring our guest's safety and a pleasurable experience. One of the biggest challenges was the hot weather of Dubai; nonetheless our restaurant team -consisting of 15 chefs and workers- handled it professionally and skillfully in a race against time in one of the biggest events ever."

In the fast food industry the Doner sandwich is a strong competitor in terms of quality, delicious taste and a low price. One Doner sandwich is enough to satisfy an adult. The sandwich consists of grilled lamb with spices cooked the Turkish way.
