Dubai's Indian community celebrates 66th Republic Day

The Indian community in the UAE celebrated India’s 66th Republic Day on Monday January 26 at Indian High School, Oud Mehta Road, Dubai.

Anurag Bhushan, Indian consul-general in Dubai, who was the chief guest for the event, hoisted the national flag which was followed by the national anthem sung by the school choir. The consul-general then read extracts from the address to the nation by the President of India on the eve of Republic Day.

Addressing a gathering of Indian citizens from various walks of life, the consul-general extended his greetings and Republic Day wishes to all fellow Indians. He also congratulated Indian High School for organising a grand celebration on Republic Day.

Dr. L. M. Pancholia, chairman of Indian High School, made the welcome remarks. The speeches were followed by a march past and a performance by Indian High School students.
