Dubai schools' Eid break: 3 days for some

Private schools in Dubai have announced their holidays for Eid Al Adha.

While a few Dubai schools have announced three-days off, starting September 22, others have marked two-days, starting September 23.

Delhi Private School, and Dubai American Academy are among those that have marked holidays from September 22 to September 24.

Emirates International School has announced days off on September 23 and September 24.

Star International, Al Twar, informed parents they will now remain closed for two days instead of three as mentioned in their school calendar, starting September 23. This will be in line with the government directive, a top school official said.

Saudi Arabia announced that Thursday, September 24, will be the first day of Eid Al Adha.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Arafat Day will be on Wednesday, the ninth of the month of Dhu Al Hijjah, corresponding to September 23 and the first day of Eid accordingly will fall on Thursday, the tenth of the month of Dhu Al Hijjah, corresponding to 24th of the month of September.

Gems’ Jumeriah Primary School has marked three-days on their academic calendar starting September 22 but have not made any official announcement yet.

Raffles International School has marked tentative dates starting September 23.

Indian schools like Millennium will likely to be closed, as their term examinations end on Sunday, September 20.

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) said they are awaiting the official UAE announcement.
