Major changes have been made to Dubai’s bus route network which will become operation on Saturday, June 1.

One new route has been introduced, while five extended, three curtailed and three routes cancelled, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced.

A new bus route – Route 43 - will be launched connecting Gold Souq Bus Station to Dubai Festival City. Acting Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA Essa Al Hashimi said buses on the new route will move from the Gold Souq Station to Dubai Festival City, passing Al Murraqabat Street and Airport Terminal 1.

“Starting  June 1, we will be extending the courses of five lines, namely Route 44 to reach Al Rashidiya Metro Station; Route F46 to reach Dubai Investment Park (2), Route 64A to pass through Dubai Festival City, Route 84 to pass through Tecom Residences Complex, and Route F21 to pass through Al Nahda (2),” Al Hashimi added.

Three routes will be cancelled and replaced with four existing routes and the new route, Al Hashemi explained.

“The three lines to be canceled are Route 48, which will be replaced with the new Route 43; Route F2, which will be replaced by the three existing lines 64A, 64, and 4; and Route F16, which will be replaced by the existing Route F20.”

Three routes have been curtailed to exclude certain localities.

Route 4, going from Gold Souk to Rashidiya metro station will no longer touch Dubai Festival City. Instead, Route 44 can be used.

Route 22, starting from Al Nahda 1 will ride up to Deira City Centre, in addition to specified trips that reach Dubai Courts.

Route 31, starting from Oud Al Muteena, will stop at Gold Souk Bus Station and will no longer touch Al Ghubaiba Bus Station. Route 8 can be used instead.
