Eida will issue SMS alerts to renew ID cards
Emirates Identity Authority (Eida) will alert people via SMS when the national identity cards are ready for delivery as well as when the expiry dates near, reported 'Al Khaleej'.
Abdullah Al Kindi, Chief Operating Officer, Eida, said the authority has already begun SMS alerts to inform residents in a bid to enhance quality service. This will avoid any delay in the process of receiving or renewal of cards.
Residents will receive a SMS alert 30 days prior to their cards expiry. Therefore, change in mobile numbers and mail boxes should be immediately informed to Eida, said Al Kindi.
The authority is in the process of unveiling several interactive services to streamline the issuance of identity cards.
Al Kindi said the recent BlackBerry meassages citing job opportunities in Eida were mere rumours.
