A 51-year-old UAE national has died in an accident on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Ajman.
Colonel Ali Hamid Al Museibi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department of Ajman Police, said the deceased was driving a Vitara vehicle on the road to Sharjah when a Toyota Fortuner vehicle, driven by an Asian, suddenly entered his lane and collided with his vehicle.
The Vitara overturned four times and caught fire, injuring the Emirati severely.
A police rescue team took him out of the burning car and rushed him to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said the accident happened because the Toyota car entered the road without checking whether it was clear of traffic.
The driver of the Toyota Fortuner was not injured.
