Emirati students and education officials meet in London

Emiratis studying at British universities today met with Emirati education officials at a gathering held by the Eyal Zayed (Zayed's Sons) initiative in London, one day ahead of this year's edition of the annual career fair UAE-UK Pioneers Forum.

With about 1500 Emiratis studying in the UK, the forum seeks to give Emirati students a chance to interact with business leaders from both countries to showcase career opportunities within the UAE.

At the gathering, Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulla Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education, spoke about 'Shorak' (your opinion), an interactive online platform created by the Ministry to draw feedback from, and promote interaction between Emirati students overseas and those at home.

Students are also required to take part in foreseeing the future of education in the UAE and present any proposals that can contribute towards advancing education in their country, Al Falasi noted.

Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Education Council and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, urged Emirati students studying abroad to contact the UAE Embassy in London for any proposals that can serve the future of education.

In terms of development, the UAE has moved from foreseeing the future to making the future, he noted.

By facilitating communication with Emirati students abroad, Shorak provides high school students with advice and information on the best foreign universities and academic disciplines, he said.

Ahmed Al Mazrouei, the Cultural Attache at the UAE Embassy in London, stressed that the UAE helps graduate students seeking master's and PhD degrees by providing all opportunities and harnessing all obstacles.
