Etihad Aviation Group, EAG, has organised a motorbike parade across the UAE in support of autism awareness, in partnership with Emirates Autism Society.

Over 200 participants, including 40 EAG staff, departed Etihad Airways’ head office in Abu Dhabi last Friday and rode to Ajman, finishing at the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare. The group was led by Harley Owners Group (HOG), Abu Dhabi ChaptAer, and flyers with autism awareness information were distributed at each of the stops on the way to Ajman.

Speaking on the occasion, Khaled Al Mehairbi, Senior Vice President of Abu Dhabi Airport Operations and Chairman of the Sports and Social Committee at Etihad Airways, said, "We are delighted to continue our support of Autism Awareness month, within the UAE. This shows our commitment to greater contribution to communities in the region."

April, which is recognised as Autism Awareness Month locally and internationally, is a channel through which the airline organises community and staff initiatives to promote understanding and awareness of autism. Earlier this month, EAG joined thousands of businesses, buildings and iconic landmarks in ‘Light It Up Blue’ – a global initiative on World Autism Awareness Day, 2nd April - by bathing the exterior of its facilities in blue light, the globally recognised colour for autism.
