Etihad Airways, one of the fastest growing carriers, will launch its first flight to Maldives in November as part of ongoing plans to expand its global flight network, its CEO has said.
Maldives will be the company’s 67th destination worldwide and will involve a holiday package that includes diving and other facilities, James Hogan wrote in Etihadinflight magazine.
“I am delighted to tell you that from November this year, Etihad Airways will start flights to the Paradise Islands of the Maldives, our 67th destination,” he said.
“This is carefully designed to provide visitors with the maximum leisure time on arrival…in fact our European customers can take advantage of overnight flights in both directions, giving a full extra day in the Maldives.”
Hogan said Etihad would also offer special packages and a wide range of experiences for “all budgets.”
“There are tailored packages for honeymooners, families, sun worshippers and divers, all including flights, hotel accommodation and island transfers.”
Hogan noted that the Maldives comprises nearly 1,200 islands, famous for their unspent beaches.
