Fake stamps lead Dubai to help UK in drug arrest

Dubai Customs has helped British Authorities arrest drug traffickers in the United Kingdom.

The traffickers were awaiting a postal parcel from an Asian country through Dubai. An alert inspector at the Dubai Cargo Village identified the fake seals on them and initiated action.

Omer Al Muhairi, First Manager, Department of Air Cargo Operations, Dubai Customs, said the inspector had suspected the parcel that included dry and rubber seals. They were found out to be fake and belonged to an official British agency, which is the intended final destination of the parcel.

He added that the inspection section of the Cargo Village tipped the Customs Intelligence Unit of Dubai Customs about the parcel, which included 24 parcels. In turn the unit informed the British Security Authorities, which eventually arrested the suspects.
