Dubai Police has established first specialised female task force to guard crowded markets, Arabic daily Al Bayan newspaper reported.
Brig. Gen. Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director-General of the General Department of Protective Security and Emergency, urged the new task force to meet expectations and level of efficiency achieved by the Dubai Police.
he emphasised on the importance of this unit as it will be strengthened with a sufficient numbers to be assigned in Deira and Bur Dubai areas to play an important role for security and reduce theft and fraud by some women – particularly in the crowded markets.
Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi said the presence of this force would contribute to eradicate crimes committed by women in the markets for it becomes an awkward situation when it comes to search suspicious women due to local customs and traditions.
Brig. Gen. Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi said the new task force has been created under the guidance of Maj. Gen. Khamis Matar Al Mazina, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.
