Filipino boy rebuked by dad jumps to death in Sharjah

A 13-year-old Filipino jumped to death from the 13th floor in Sharjah after he was rebuked by his father when he caught him smoking.

Police said no criminal act involved in the death of the boy after questioning the father about the causes that led his son to leap from their apartment’s balcony.

“The father told the police that he was the reason for his son’s suicide as he had reprimanded him when he caught him smoking,” Alkhaleej daily said.

In a separate report, the paper said a 43-year-old Indian man died after falling down from the eighth floor in a building under construction in Sharjah.

It quoted police as saying the man, identified only as RJ, died on impact after hitting the ground in Mamzar area.
