Filipino teen killed in 13th floor fall in Sharjah

A 14-year-old Filipino died after plunging down from the 13th floor in a tower in Sharjah and police said they were still investigating the incident.

The boy, who lives with his family, fell off the balcony of his apartment in Al Nahda area on Thursday around 5pm, the semi-official daily Al Ittihad said.

It quoted police sources as saying they were questioning the victim’s family to determine how the boy fell down and whether criminal act was involved.

Several people, including children, were killed after falling from high level apartments in the emirate last year.
