Dense fog is being reported in parts of the country, with authorities warning commuters to proceed with caution during the morning rush hour.

Abu Dhabi Police issued an alert in the morning hours on its official Twitter account, saying: “Low visibility due to fog formation on different parts in Abu Dhabi and highways. Motorists are urged to take extra caution.”

The country’s weather bureau, the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has also issued a similar warning, reporting dense fog over Al Maktoum Airport in the morning hours.

NCMS has also warned against poor visibility over some of coastal and internal areas due to fog formation, including Al Dafra and Liwa in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, residents of Arabian Ranches, Emirates Hills and Tecom have also reported low visibility at stretches, causing slow moving traffic in these areas.

The NCMS has stated the spike in the humidity levels could lead to foggy conditions in the coming days, with a relative rise in temperatures is expected over the next two days, with highs of 35 degrees Celsius.
