Four chickens land 3 Emiratis in court

Three Emirati men are standing trial in Kalba on charges of stealing four chickens from a local farm although one of them claims the birds were lost and they just found them.

Police arrested the three after the farm owner reported that he saw them fleeing his farm with four chickens.

He said that the three went into his farm just after dawn and snatched the four birds before the eyes of his farm workers after threatening them.

The semi official Arabic language daily Alittihad said one of the thieves confessed to the crime while another said they just found the chickens which appeared to be lost and that they intended to return them to the farm.

The paper said the judge postponed court session for sentence to May 14.
