The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced four detainees to three years of jail for deliberately setting a police detention centre on fire and protesting for depriving them of smoking.
According to the accusation sheet, three Emiratis and an Iranian endangered the lives of 65 other detainees and causing damages worth Dh100,000 at Al Ghusais Police Station. They were accused of starting fire in room C.
Three Emirati accused FQ, 21, GE, 24, and AH, 25, and the Iranian MA, 27 have all denied the accusation and pleaded not guilty.
The Court found the four guilty and awarded them the jail sentence.
