Abu Dhabi police arrested four men on charges of trying to kill a guard in a natural reserve in the emirate when he tried to prevent them from hunting in the area.
The unnamed men, aged between 23 and 35 years, were chasing a houbara bustard inside Umm Al Shattan reserve when they were chased by a patrol which tried to stop them, according to Alkhaleej daily.
Two of them fired five shots at the guard while a third one intercepted the patrol car with his vehicle to allow his friends to escape. The fourth defendant was accused of providing g a cover for them by letting them hide at his house.
The prosecutor charged the first two with attempted murder and possessing unlicensed weapons as well as liquor and drugs, which were found by the police in their car.
