Four women arrested for using drugs

Four Emirati women are in custody at Al Muraqqabat police station for using drugs.

According to some other female prisoners at the police station, the four national women are detained alone in a separate area, reported 'Gulf News'.

One female prisoner claimed that the women shout and scream and bang the steel door at all times, said another prisoner.

An inmate was quoted as saying the four women seem young and wear the national dress.

Police said the women were arrested for using drugs illegally and consuming alcohol but did not divulge details of how or where they were arrested from.

The women will be detained at Al Aweer police station, police added.
