In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has helped repatriation of 130 prisoners of different nationalities to their home countries, after paying off their flight tickets.

The prisoners were released after serving jail terms and deportation sentences but could not afford to purchase air tickets to return home.

The move is being coordinated with the Ministry of Interior to help the inmates, who were sentenced to deportation upon serving their terms to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr with their families in their home countries.

Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, Director-General of Khalifa Foundation hailed the directives of His Highness the Head of State to help these people, pointing out that the Khalifa Foundation immediately started taking the relevant administrative and financial procedures and the payment of financial obligations for the prisoners.

For their part, the beneficiaries of this noble gesture expressed their thanks and gratitude to His Highness the President  and the Khalifa Foundation for extending a helping hand to secure tickets for them to return to their home countries.

The Khalifa Bin Zayed Foundation sponsored the repatriation of 98 inmates in the first half of the month of Ramadan. The Foundation is also actively involved in various other humanitarian initiatives that provide assistance to people all over the world, irrespective of religion, race, or gender.
