Global Village aims to attract 5 million visitors this year

Global Village, which opened its doors to the public on November 6, 2014, has received phenomenal response so far and aims to attract a record five million visitors this season.

A number of new features have been added to enhance the three aspects of the festival – entertainment, shopping and saving for this 19th season.

To offer visitors the maximum shopping experience, Global Village plays host to more than 70 countries through 31 pavilions. There are more than 3,500 outlets offering varied entertainment and shopping experience.

Similarly, the venue offers more than 12,000 entertainment and cultural shows. Fantasy Island with 50 different rides offers an interesting experience.

An official at Global Village says, “The most beautiful thing this year is the great cultural diversity along with new entertainment experiences.  Global Village is a hit among families and this year we aim to attract 5 million visitors.”

Animal Land, Illumination World, Al Rimal pit, Prehistoric Oceanic, Return of house of horrors, and Heritage Village are the new attractions that have received huge response from visitors, he added.  Theaters are spread across the venue to ensure visitors the ease  of watching their favourite shows.

Finally, Global Village also rewards visitors. The scratch-and-win coupons ensure all visitors stand a chance to win something, apart from offers on entry tickets, free rides and cash prizes.

Not to forget the unique eating experience. More than 25 restaurants cater to people with different cultures with different tastes. Food outlets include Arab, American, European, Afghani, Pakistani, Turkish, Egyptian, Moroccan, Bahraini, Iranian, Indian, and Chinese among others.

Global Village also hosted several breathtaking performances to mark the last week of the Dubai Shopping Festival.
