Heavy rain closes roads leading to UAE's tallest mountain

Ras Al Khaimah police yesterday closed roads leading to Jais mountain -  UAE's tallest - as a safety measure, given the rainy weather affecting the UAE, ‘Al Bayan’ reports.

The newspaper quoted that the Wadi Al Bih, one of the largest wadis in the UAE, was nearly flooded due to the heavy rains.

RAK is forecast to experience more rain.

Police air wings carried out sorties to mountainous area and to check the water levels in the valleys.

Rescue patrols were also towing away vehicles broken down in these areas.
