A 19-year-old Pakistani, MB, who has left his mobile number on an Emirati woman's car, wanting to meet her, has been awarded one month in jail, followed by deportation, by the Dubai Court of Misdemeanour.

Although MB denied the accusation, he was found guilty of indecent behaviour.

AMN, 31, an Emirati, told the prosecution that on July 19 at about 7pm she found a note on her car with a mobile number and a request to call.

She testified that on calling the number, MB asked to meet her on a date. She informed the police and then agreed to meet him. The man was arrested when he turned up for the date.

The woman has denied knowing MB or even talking to him before July 19.

However, the accused has his own version of events.

He told the prosecution that when he was at Aswaq Centre in Al Warqa, at about 7pm, he happened to see AMN getting into her car. She waved at him and blew him kisses before leaving. Therefore, he followed her car and found out where she lives.

On the same night at around 10pm he went to the woman’s house and wrote a message: "I need to know you”, with his mobile number and left it on her car’s windshield.

The next day he saw AMN and she gestured to him to talk to her, but he could not understand what she meant.

The following day, he received a call from her and spoke to her for about 12 minutes. Over the next eight days they spoke several times, he says.

She introduced herself as 26-year-old named Fatima staying in Al Quoz. He said that they spoke in English, which he could not understand well.

On July 10, he then received a call at about 8pm, but was busy and asked her to call later.

So she called at 10pm and asked where he was. She later came to his house and asked him to come down to meet her. When he came down, he was met by the police, he says.
