Host charged with raping guest in late-night party

A sales representative raped a Filipina at his home after a party which he had organised for his friends, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On February 3, ASS, 47, invited his friends to a party at his house in Jumeira 1. “We consumed alcohol and at around midnight, I felt dizzy so I lay down on a sofa and fell asleep,” testified the victim JMA, 30, jobless.

“The next morning I was shocked to find myself in bed with ASS. He told me how I’d resisted him and then he slapped me and tried to suffocate me; so I begged him not to kill me… and he told me how he undressed me and had sex with me. He left the room after telling me all this. I tried to get out but he had locked the room from outside,” she testified.

SD 34, Filipina, jobless, who was sleeping in the living room, testified that as she woke up she did not find the victim next to her. “I asked ASS who was in the kitchen with JMA. He asked me to wait for five minutes. When I saw scratches on his hand, I asked him what happened… he told me that he had a fight with JMA without telling the reason… I followed him into a room and saw the victim in a bed completely naked with bruises and blood on different areas of her body.“I helped her to dress and took her to the hospital. The next day we reported the incident to the police,” she testified.

The accused denied raping JMA. ASS claimed that JMA is a prostitute and he had invited her to his house to have sex against money. He also claimed that he had a fight with her and had beaten her before having sex.

BG, 43, Syrian, manager of a jewellery company, testified that the accused invited him with people from Switzerland to a party in his house from about 11 pm to 1.30am. He left the house with his Switzerland friends while a Filipina SD stayed at the house.

Forensic reported that the victim sustained bruises and scratches on her face and different areas of her body. The accused also sustained scratches.

The court adjourned the case till June 19.
