'I didn’t molest kids, I only tried to calm them'

An Asian barber accused of molesting two little boys in Ras Al-Khaimah denied the charge and told court he was only caressing them to ease their fear of the scissors, a newspaper said on Wednesday.

Police had arrested the unnamed barber following a complaint by their father that the man molested his sons aged 3 and 5 years.

“The father told police that the barber waited for his shop to be empty of customers to molest his children and take advantage of their innocence,” the Sharjah-based Arabic language daily Alkhaleej said.

“The barber denied the accusations, saying he was only caressing and joking with the boys to ease their fears of the ‘barber scissors‘.”

The paper said the man stood trial on Tuesday but the judge adjourned sentenced to February 15.
