Indian student found dead on CBSE exam day
An Indian school student has been found dead in a building in Sharjah.
The student, identified as AS, aged 16, is a student of an Indian school in Dubai.
According to Sharjah Police, the boy was found hanging in a utility room of a building in the Al Buhaira area of Sharjah. He was in his school uniform.
The boy was supposed to go to school at around noon to attend his CBSE Indian board examination and his mother thought he had left for the examination.
The school authorities then informed the parents that AS did not reach the school or attend the examination.
Alarmed about the whereabouts of their son, the parents tried to locate him and lodged a complaint with Sharjah Police.
Sharjah Police traced the teenager's mobile phone, which was still on.
They located his whereabouts and found him dead, hanging in a room.
The Sharjah Police confirmed that the boy’s father identified the body and that the deceased did not attend the examination.
The boy’s body has been sent to forensics after which it will be repatriated to India.
