Injured man on ship rescued by air wing

The UAE Interior Ministry’s Air Wing has rescued a seriously injured man from a ship four nautical miles off the coast of Sharjah.

The 37-year-0ld Asian man’s neck was broken in an accident on the ship.

Brigadier General Ali Mohammed Al Mazroui, director of the Air Wing, said a rescue aircraft took off with an air ambulance crew immediately after being informed of the accident by Sharjah Police.

He said a stretcher was lowered on to the ship and the injured person lifted to the aircraft.

Brigadier Abdullah Salem Al Zeeb said the air ambulance crew provided medical care to the injured man before taking him to Al Qassimi Hospital for further treatment.
