International car thief chased down in UAE

Sharjah Police has arrested a GCC national on charges of car theft.

Identified as HM, the suspect allegedly stole a car of a Kalba resident after threatening him at gun point. He also made away with Dh50,000 of the car owner.

The CID team of Sharjah Police seized the car and the amount from his possession upon arrest.

It is revealed that the suspect is wanted in several other cases in different police stations in the country. He is also on the wanted list internationally for similar crimes.

The incident came to light when the car owner filed a police complaint saying that his car was stolen by a person, whose only first name he knew.

He alleged that the suspect pointed a gun at him and drove off with the car and money from Al Helo valley in Kalba.

Sharjah Police in co-operation with Ajman Police and Al Ain Police identified the suspect.

Police confiscated the gun and money from the vehicle.

He has confessed to his crime.

Police have urged residents to alert authorities at the slightest hint of anything untoward in society. They called upon residents not to take people whom they do not know into confidence.
