Islamic centre's free workshops, lectures

Speakers from around the world will light on various aspects of Islam in a special Ramadan Majlis being organized by Al Manar Quran Study Centre.

Special workshops teaching Islamic values and understanding Quran would also be conducted throughout the month in a massive
air-conditioned tent put up by the centre.

Though the workshops would be in English, the lectures would be held in four languages; English, Urdu,  Tamil and Malayalam, keeping mind the multinational expat communities that live in Dubai.

Under the patronage of Shaikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, the event will run between August 4 and 20.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, A P Abdul Samad, President of Indian Islahi Center and Al Manar Quran Center said the event will be open to 1000 people a day and the organisers will distribute 600 free Iftar kits every day.

The illustrated list of speakers include prominent figures like; Abdul Raheem Green, Hussain Yee, Sayed Rageah, Toufeeq Chaudhury, Abdul Aziz, Abdul Rahim Makrati and Safar Ul Madani. While those from India include RK Noor, Mustafa Tanveer, MM Akbar Nissar Nadiawala etc.

The special lectures will be held between 10 pm to 11.30 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The courses will be held between 10 am to 3 pm on Thursdays and Fridays and entry will be free for people who register in advance.

An International Peace Convention held by Al Manar Center had received good response and the Study Center plans to make Ramadan Majlis an annual event.
