If you are looking for a new job, a career fair or job fair is a good option that you can incorporate in your job hunt. Career fairs are picking up in the country, whether they are in real time or online job fairs where employers from various industries scout for talent.

Just yesterday Bayt.com announced two of its online fairs that are soon scheduled to take place. Today, Monster Gulf has made public that its 3-D virtual job fair for candidates will take place from 26th – 30th May, benefitting both job seekers and employers in the region.

Developed to meet the changing needs of the modern day jobseekers and employers alike, the new concept offers jobseekers both in Middle East and internationally, the opportunity to log on to a virtual exhibition and engage in real time with companies seeking talent in the country, said a statement released by the recruitment firm.

Virtual job fair are setting the trend in job search. They are a unique and cost effective alternative to actual career fairs in a media-rich interactive environment. Such fests enable viewer interaction where candidates and employers can interact live and chat with videos and Q&A sessions as well.

The job fair comes at a time when a recent Index for April 2013 released by Monster Gulf shows that the region at large has registered a decline of 26 per cent on an annual basis as far as online job opportunities is concerned.

In the UAE, the Index recorded an annual decline of 23 per cent in online job opportunities. Engineering, Construction and Real Estate (up 0 per cent) was the only sector to have recorded non-negative growth. Hospitality and Travel and Health Care (up 1 percent each) lead in annual growth amongst the occupation groups.
