An Asian housemaid went to police in Kalba and told them she was pregnant after a relationship with an elderly local man but she was found later to be lying.
Police summoned the old man, who insisted he never met the maid and even does not know her. After questioning, the maid confessed to making a false statement against the old man and told police she was impregnated by a man she does not know.
During trial, the judge sentenced her to three months in prison and ordered her deportation from the UAE on charges of making a false report and involvement in illegitimate affair.
