Man accused of attempting to kill US judge is not Emirati: Gargash

A man accused of terrorism in the US is not a citizen of the UAE, a senior government official said.

This allegation reportedly appeared in the US media and was later published by other international and Arab publications.

According to a report in 'Al Bayan' newspaper, Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, contacted the UAE Embassy in Washington to inform that the man who tried to kill a US judge during a hearing is not an Emirati.

He explained that the accused is an Asian national who stayed in the UAE for some time.

The UAE minister made a statement in the wake of a man named Yahya Mohammed Farooq, 37, was accused of an attempt to kill a US judge during the hearing of Farooq’s case.
