The Dubai Criminal Court awarded FAG, 33, a Pakistani visitor, a 10-year imprisonment and ordered him to pay a fine of Dh50,000 on charges of possessing and smuggling 92 capsules containing 759 grams of heroin.
The sentence is also followed by deportation.
The convict was arrested upon his arrival at Dubai International Airport on February 28.
As part of routine screening, Majed Hussain, 20, inspector, searched the passenger as well as his luggage. The inspection device showed that there were strange bodies in his stomach.
FAG admitted having swallowing 92 capsules that was given to him by someone in Karachi and hand them over to a person in Dubai.
FAG confessed before the court and asked for leniency.
