Man gets life for kidnap and robbery

A criminal court in Ajman sentenced a Pakistani to life in prison for posing as a police officer and kidnapping a man to rob him, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old defendant, identified by his initials as ZS, dragged the unnamed victim from Ajman to Sharjah for alleged police investigation and locked him up in an apartment, the Arabic language daily Alittihad said.

“There, he stole his money and mobile phone and left the flat after locking him up,” the paper said.
“The court found him guilty in kidnapping, using forged police documents and robbery…it sentenced him to life in jail and ordered his deportation.”
