Dubai anti-drug squads arrested five Arab men for dealing in cocaine after one of them tried to smuggle the stuff inside a shoe at the airport.
After receiving a tip off, police units stopped an Arab passenger as he landed at Dubai airport and found an unspecified amount of cocaine concealed inside a black shoe in his baggage, the Arabic language daily Alkhaleej said.
The man told police that he was smuggling drugs and selling them to four other men, who in turn were selling the stuff for a much higher price.
“Police asked the man to meet the customers and give them the drugs…when they met at the usual place in a hotel, police raided the place and arrested them all,” the paper said, quoting Colonel Ahmed bin Ghalida, director of the Anti-narcotics department in Dubai.
