An Asian man did not imagine that he would spend New Year’s eve in a toilet.

He got trapped in the toilet as the door did not open, about half an hour before the New Year.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Major Khalid Al Hammadi, Acting Director General of Dubai Police Rescue Department, and Head of Special Task Force in Dubai Police said that this incident took place a few years ago.

“This is one of the funniest rescue missions which we had to deal with a few years ago. In this report, the man’s family called us to open the locked toilet door and release him. We sent a team, and by the time they opened the door, it was already the next year.”

Major Al Hammadi added that the man was taken by surprise when the door was opened by the rescue team saying ‘Happy New Year’ to him.

“He spent almost half an hour in the toilet before being released.

“He was surprised to hear ‘Happy New Year’ and said that this was a different way to celebrate New Year.”

Search for a man’s dentures in the Creek

The Dubai Police Search and Rescue team have actually been in called in to dive and search for a man’s dentures, which fell in the Creek.

Recalling details of the incident, which took place a few years ago to Emirates 24|7, Major Khalid Al Hammadi, Acting Director General of Dubai Police Rescue Department, and Head of Special Task Force in Dubai Police, said that it was one of the funniest and strangest rescue missions they were assigned to.

“In this case, the Iranian man was laughing near Dubai Creek when his dentures fell into the water. He called Dubai Police for help, and we were sent to attend the case.”

Major Al Hammadi added that the man did not want to give up on his dentures and requested us to dive in the water and search for it.

“And we did that. A diver dived in the water and searched for it for hours, but we couldn’t find it as the water was moving.”

He added that he cannot forget this case as is was the strangest search mission he came across in his career.
