Manicures for men frowned upon in Al Ain

Department of Economic Development (DED) has ordered all gent's salon owners in Al Ain to stop offering manicure services and pull down advertisements of the same as it goes against the customs and traditions of the local community, reported 'Gulf Today'.

Only woman's salons are entitled to offer the service, it added.

Even make-up offered in gents' baraber shops raises concern, DED said.

Such "abuses will affect our Arabic and Islamic values that we are keen on maintaining in the long run", it added.
