Mock evacuation drills carried out in Dubai

Emirates Post Group has carried out a mock evacuation and firefighting drill at Dubai Central Post Office in coordination with the Directorate General of Civil Defence Dubai, Al Karama Centre and Dubai Police General Headquarters.

Abdullah Al Ashram, Acting CEO of Emirates Post Group, thanked the Civil Defence Department for their continuous cooperation with all government and societal sectors.

The drill is meant to ensure the safety of employees as part of the group's strategic plan to ensure its readiness at its premises to deal with fire and emergency incidents.

Similarly, the Health and Safety Department of Dubai Municipality also carried out an evacuation exercise at Naif market, where 1,000 people were evacuated in less than four minutes.

The evacuation drill, conducted according to international best practices, was part of the efforts to ensure public health and safety in line with the risk and emergency management policy of Dubai Municipality to achieve the vision of the Municipality's strategic plan to build a happy and sustainable city and to increase preparedness for crises and emergencies for public utilities, said Redha Hassan Salman, Director of the Health and Safety Department and Head of the Corporate Emergency and Crises Team.
